Padlock Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 20261. Overview
Padlock is a daily number logic puzzle game. Your game data is stored locally on your device and is never sent to any server we operate. We do not operate any servers or databases that store your personal information. This policy explains what data the app handles and what third-party services are used.
2. Local Data Storage
All your game progress, statistics, streaks, settings, and preferences are stored exclusively on your device using local storage (Hive database). This data is completely private and isolated. We have no ability to access, read, or retrieve it.
Data stored locally includes:
- Game progress for daily and practice puzzles
- Statistics per game mode (games played, wins, streaks, guess distributions)
- Global streak tracking across all modes
- App preferences (theme, sound effects, haptic feedback, language)
- Onboarding completion status
- Ad preference flags
3. Advertising
Padlock displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect certain data to serve and measure ads, including:
- Device identifiers (advertising ID)
- General device information (model, OS version)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, taps)
This data is collected and processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy. We do not have direct access to this data. You may reset your advertising identifier or opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings. Ad display can be removed through in-app purchase.
4. No Accounts or Authentication
Padlock does not require or offer user accounts. There is no sign-up, no login, and no cloud sync.
5. Offline Gameplay
Padlock gameplay works completely offline. Daily puzzles are generated deterministically using a date-based seed algorithm (SHA-256), meaning the same puzzle is produced for all players without contacting any server. All game modes and practice mode work without any internet connection. An internet connection is only required for displaying ads and submitting optional support forms.
6. No First-Party Analytics or Tracking
We do not use any first-party analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry services. We do not track your gameplay behavior, session duration, or app usage patterns. Note that the Google AdMob SDK may collect usage data as described in Section 3.
7. Share Feature
When you use the share button after completing a puzzle, the app generates a text summary and/or an image card of your result (emoji grid, guess count, puzzle number, streak). The image is generated locally on your device and saved as a temporary file. The shared content contains no personal information — only your puzzle result pattern. The app itself does not transmit this data; your device's native share sheet handles it.
8. Feedback & Support
If you submit a help request, bug report, or app rating through the in-app forms, the information you provide (name, subject, description, rating) is sent to Google Forms via HTTPS. This submission is entirely voluntary and only occurs when you explicitly tap the Submit button. No data is sent automatically. Do not include sensitive personal information in form submissions.
9. Third-Party Services
Padlock uses the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob — for displaying advertisements (see Section 3)
- Google Forms — for optional support form submissions (see Section 8)
- Google Fonts — the app may download fonts on first launch
Each service is governed by its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy for details.
10. Your Rights
- You have complete control over your game data at all times
- You can delete all local data by uninstalling the app
- You can reset your advertising identifier through your device settings
- You can opt out of personalized ads through your device settings
- For data collected by Google AdMob, refer to Google's data deletion policies
11. Children's Privacy
Padlock does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The Google AdMob SDK is configured to comply with applicable regulations. Parents and guardians should review device-level ad tracking settings.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the “Last Updated” date and communicated through app updates and on this website.
